Every Monday we celebrate the runners who have joined Team Special Children’s Charities for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon.
This incredible team is using their miles to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Chicago. We are so grateful for their dedication and generosity!
This week we’re featuring Hayden George, who is running with Team SCC for the first time. Hayden told us about why she joined our team:
My name is Hayden George and I am an occupational therapist by trade. Running and strength training have played a huge role in supporting my mental, emotional, and physical well-being. Every day I wake up feeling blessed to pursue and perform the physical activity I do. However, from exposure during my everyday professional career, I know this is not the case for many individuals with disabilities.
Being able to run Chicago 2025 with Special Children’s Charities means supporting a cause near and dear to my heart – ensuring people of all abilities have the chance to experience the empowering benefits of fitness. Being a fundraising team member for Special Children’s Charities makes running the 2025 Chicago Marathon that much more memorable, bringing together my personal, professional, and philanthropic values to culminate into one very exciting, charitable day.
Thank you so much to Hayden for being a part of our team! Support her effort by making a donation to her campaign today!
