Every Monday, we celebrate the runners who have joined Team Special Children’s Charities for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon.
This incredible team is using their miles to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Chicago. We are so grateful for their dedication and generosity!
This week’s featured runner is Talia Skollar. Talia told us why she is supporting SCC for this year’s race.
“I’ve always loved running, but taking on a marathon feels more meaningful when it’s connected to something bigger.
Supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I have close family members who’ve grown up with these experiences, and that’s shaped how I connect with and care about this community.
That’s why being part of Team Special Children’s Charities means so much to me—it’s a way to pair something I enjoy with a cause that’s personal, and to be part of something that truly makes an impact.”
Thank you so much to Talia for being a part of our team!

My dad and I could not think of a more perfect charity to raise money for. A charity bringing health and wellness and inclusivity to children and young adults like my brother, something we strive to not take for granted every day.
