Marathon Monday: Hayden George

Being able to run Chicago 2025 with Special Children’s Charities means supporting a cause near and dear to my heart – ensuring people of all abilities have the chance to experience the empowering benefits of fitness.

Marathon Monday: Run Sully Run

I often say that every girl deserves a dad like Kevin. We share a special bond, one that’s strengthened through our shared kind, but competitive spirit and love of spicy food. There are so many qualities in my dad that I strive to emulate.

Marathon Monday: Clarisse Biascan

Working as a pediatric nurse, I see courage of children with special needs and their parents everyday. They face challenges most us can only imagine, yet they face life with so much resilience and heart.

Marathon Monday: Jack Moran

Growing up with an aunt with special needs, my family has been involved in the community as long as I can remember. From working with my high school special education program’s gym class, to volunteering at athletic events, I have appreciated the impact of programs like Special Children’s Charities on the inclusion and empowerment for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Marathon Monday: Returning Runners

For this week’s Marathon Monday we are featuring a whole bunch of runners who are back for their second (or even third) Chicago Marathon with Team Special Children’s Charities! So far we have 17 returning runners for this year, and five of those are back for their third race with us.

Marathon Monday: Maggie Worth

My entire life I’ve tried to do what matters – whether volunteering, or befriending those who might need an extra friend – I just want to make an impact on someone’s life, make someone’s day better.
