Every Monday we celebrate the runners who have joined Team Special Children’s Charities for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon.
This incredible team is using their miles to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Chicago. We are so grateful for their dedication and generosity!

This week’s runner is Clarisse Biascan, who is joining us for her very first Marathon! Clarisse told us why she joined Team SCC:

My name is Clarisse. Running has been my biggest form of self-care.

This year, I will be running my first marathon, the Chicago Marathon, with a purpose close to my heart. I will be running for Special Children’s Charities.

Working as a pediatric nurse, I see courage of children with special needs and their parents everyday. They face challenges most us can only imagine, yet they face life with so much resilience and heart.

I will be running for them-for their hope, their futures, and the belief that with the right support, every child can thrive.

Each mile is a step toward something better. Not just for me, but also for them.

Running for a great cause makes marathon training extra special. Thank you Special Children’s Charities for this opportunity.

Thank you so much to Clarisse for being a part of our team! Support her effort by making a donation to her campaign today!

Giving Tuesday is today!

Special Children’s Charities provides free, year-round programs for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities across all 77 Chicago neighborhoods. Nearly 70% of participants live below the poverty line, so removing financial barriers is essential to ensuring access, inclusion, and joy.

Give to Special Children’s Charities this Giving Tuesday and help us meet our fundraising goal of $10,000!
